Spokane Shadow players were delighted to begin practices Monday, August 2 and play a part in a special dedication ceremony Saturday, August 7 at the newly renovated Dwight Merkel Sports Complex, 5701 N. Assembly.  Thank you to Spokane voters for passing the 2007 City of Spokane Parks Improvement Bond, the Spokane Park Board, the Parks Bond Citizen Advisory Committee, and staff of the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department for honoring Dwight Merkel’s legacy of athletic opportunity for children and a strong sense of commitment to the community.
